Locum rates may range from £23-35 per hour, depending on experience, location and the job role. Biomedical scientists are needed around the clock within hospitals, performing investigations for the sickest patients at night-time and during weekends. Working these hours often leads to an uplifted rate which could be up to 1.5 times the standard hourly rate.
